Visits for Scouts: Information for Leaders and Scouts

Every day is Earth Day at the Sequatchie Valley Institute, a model of environmental sustainability. Kids are welcome here, where technology, forestry ecology, biology, art, and sustainable living come together. SVI includes 300 acres of forests and trails, permaculture gardens and edible landscapes integrated into the forest ecosystem, and solar-powered hand-crafted structures built of native materials. In this living laboratory, kids learn the natural history of the forest, discover how to grow their own food, and find out how people can live a simple, fulfilling, and sustainable lifestyle.
