Tour of SVI + Work Weekend

We’ll start the work weekend with a tour of our facilities on Saturday the 8th at 10am central. Please call or email alex so he knows to expect you for the tour — (423) 949-4598. You are welcome to camp with us on Saturday night — it may be very cold, so please come prepared…
Sunday will be devoted to work, moving the next layer of beams and rafters for the second story and roof of the meeting hall.
Building has been a wonderful experience for all. The meeting hall is coming along very nicely — we’re thrilled to have the help of so many friends of svi involved every step of the way. Someday we’ll have a dance party to honor the builders — so come be a part of it!

Our crafts gallery, with Carol’s botanical art tiles, beautiful bird feeders and other ceramics, and Ashley and Patrick’s jewelry, will be open also. If you can’t make it then, the gallery will be open for last minute shoppers Dec. 23-24. This includes a lovely forest trail hike so come prepared. I talked with Alex today and he said if you decide to have another tour during the coming week that he would contact me. I have friends from Florida and he is on your e-mail list. He is not able to attend the weekend sessions, but had hoped to make a tour.

I just read about S.V.I. in Sandor Ellix Katz’s “Wild Fermentation” which I picked up at Earth Fare. Had no idea you were there, and I used to do some work in Whitwell (pronounced whuwwell, as I remember). Please add me to your mailing list.
