Hi folks,

We'd like to schedule a SVI board meeting prior to the Wine in the  
Woods event to discuss SVI events for 2009/2010.

It looks like Wednesday evenings in town are best for Johnny, Carol,  
Bradley and Patrick, so if somebody on this list will kindly agree to  
host, we can get the word out and get it together.

Please let me know ASAP if you can host any upcoming Friday evening in  
town.

Hey there.

Maya and I talked.

We can host the meeting over here at the Ranch if that is okay with
everyone. Perhaps we can make it a potluck of sorts and prepare a
dinner... make an event of it.

Also, Chris, in the email you first said Wednesday, and then in
closing you said Friday. I am assuming Wednesday is the right day.

I suppose what is left is to figure which Wednesday and to come up
with a time. I will discuss this with Maya, but we are both pretty
free on any given Wednesday evening.

SO... shoot some numbers at us... when is good for the rest of you?

Hi all,

We have offers from Carol to host at UTC, and Alex and Maya to host at  
the Ranch (Shallowford Rd, near the Mall)

Wednesday is the day we're shooting for, possibly next Wednesday if  
that works for everyone, I'm thinking 7:00 since the Market lets out  
at 6:00.

I'm leaning toward UTC, as that's closer to where the largest number  
of us are coming from.

Also, I'd like to invite Barrot Rendleman and Scott Sullivan to  
attend, and I think they're both closer to downtown as well.

But the offer to have a potluck at the Ranch is also good.

Let's hear from you all...

I am going to take it upon myself to call Trey and let him know. He
rarely ever uses a computer. I will also call Jake since a computer is
not always available to him. I will reply later as to whether or not
they are okay with the date and time chosen so far.

Chris, should we make a round of calls to everyone else involved so
that we can get a confirmation on this day and time at a faster pace
than we presently are? You sent the original email three days ago and
I only know of responses from Maya, Carol, and myself.
Of course, this could simply be because whomever has responded has not
forwarded their reply to the crewlist, but instead has sent it
directly to you.

Just a thought...

Also, has the advisory board also received these emails? Or rather, is
the advisory board also a part of the 'crewlist'?

I'm on the advisory board, and i got it. I won't be able to attend as I will be doing eldercare at that time. 

If I am needed I can get someone from care assist to cover for me at that time and I could come. Just let me know.

Hi folks, just thought of this, but since I'm working a lot where there is no internet, and have been away from internet for some time, its been difficult to get addresses for donors for wine. 

IF you have time and could research/ collect/ or just network for some donors for wine to Wine In The Woods - I would greatly appreciate it! (I'm sure you all would)

friday sept 25 through sunday sept 27

come work and learn with us! this weekend we'll be cobbing our  
"Covulator" (the cob-ovulator, a strawbale chicken house and low-cost  
housing prototype), as well as doing a beam-raising for Exat, an  
earthbag-timberframe residence.

we'll start friday afternoon with a cobbing 101 class, to be repeated  
sunday as needed. saturday we'll be moving wood, raising the roundpole  
beams, attatching them to their posts, and raising and attatching the  
joists on top of that. saturday night, we'll burn the largest fire we  
can find, and get some craziness out, then take it easy sunday,  
playing in mud, working on the covulator.

the workshop is free, though donations of currency, food, beer etc are  
encouraged. please bring a tent and bedding if you're planning on  
camping. any dietary needs can be accommodated. if you're bringing  
pets, please be prepared to tie them up (dogs and goats usually dont  
mix).

Guests: Sandy Katz, Will Gilligan, Don Piggett, Sonia Campbell,  
Kendall Gray, Trish Woolbright, Jeff Rogers, Trey Henson, Josh Claunch.

This was a brief meeting because it occurred on the Visioning Weekend.

Chris Gilligan accepted a nomination and a vote to become the board  
President. Jake Lewis agreed to be secretary and record meeting notes  
in the future. Trey Henson and Jeff Rogers joined the Board of  
Directors. Kendall Grey and Trish Woolobright joined the Advisory  
Board. Gilbert moved to the Advisory Board (big thanks to Gilbert for  
being our president for so long!)

Next meeting is Friday March 13, 5pm, at moonshadow. Please join us  
for a meal and get-together during the evening. The main agenda item  
for the meeting will be Committes & Roles. Planning for the upcoming  
Wildflower Hikes, Shiitake Workshop and Food For Life will also be on

Thanks to Jake for the quick turnaround on the meeting notes!

...and thanks to all present... and those who couldn't make it, etc.

Please note the dates and times of events, and plan to attend if you  
are able.

We will need several volunteers during the National Solar Tour -  
Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009. We are running 3 tours (11am, 1pm, 3pm) and  
will need shuttle drivers, tea makers, general assistants, etc. Please  
call Chris at SVI or officemanager at svionline.org to let him know you  
can help.

Be sure to mark the date of the Wine Tasting: Friday, Oct. 30 -- be  
there!

Johnny and Carol need lots of help with their kiln shed project... see  
below for date/time. It's a building workshop!

Hi folks,

I haven't heard from anyone as to whether I'll have helpers during the  
National Solar Tour, this Saturday, Oct. 4, 2009.

I am the ONLY person who will be here this weekend, other than Nana,  
so this is a desperate plea for your help.

We have 3 tours scheduled, 11am, 1pm and 3pm. I need at least 2  
helpers: shuttle driver (use our vehicle), greeter / sweetgum tour  
guide (quick training session from me prior to the tour).
