Hello everyone!

ok...Sat Oct 19 is not the proposed event date; Patrick & I will be doing
an art event that weekend. The dates that we are actually considering are
either Oct 26 or Nov 2...i like the nov 2, as a few folks who may travel
from afar w/ kids can participate in the kids event on Halloween proper, &
WitW as well. please give feed back asap, as i am working on creating the
flyers now...we are also definitely doing a friends of the forrest
halloween kids event...details @ board mtgn...

a board meetng would be great...Oct 6 does not work as well for us, but
sept 8 would be great! let's plan it...

Also...we are definitely NOT doing a primitive skills gathering around Wine
in the Woods...lets get clear...wine in the woods is a simple overnight
event, maybe a few work traders the week before in exchange for addmission
to the event, but on pre-approval & arrangement only...definitely not an
open invite to whoever before/after, as this really just turns into a bunch
of folks around for us to feed & manage. also an isolated one day Halloween
kids event.

Also, it seems to me that inviting prospective Board memebers to wine in
the woods, having them join SVI & get to know people first is way more
conducive to accomplishing things than inviting prospective people who are
strangers to everyone here to a board mtg. I feel like it would be awkward
potentially & convolute the mtg, which are hard enough to get through as
is, w/out a bunch of new people sitting around asking questions. it seems
like we need to come up w a screening process & trial period, maybe on the
advisory committee first...

ok, enough rambling...i hope everyone is well & enjoying this lush &
abundant tropical-like weather! looking forward to catching up!
aloha-
marissa
