My daughter is 23 and a botany student at Humboldt State Univ. in Arcata, Ca. She will be visiting me at the Ocoee River during the holidays. We are both interested in sustainable agriculture, edible wild plants and herbs for medicine etc.
I have gone to Asheville to the Holistic School for herbalism to take classes and I hope you will offer more classes as I would love to come. Also my daughter would love to see SVI as she might well be interested in working with you sometime.
I see that the craft gallery will be open. We will try to come then. Will there be anyone there who could possibly show us around if we come? I guess I can find you easily enough but directions would be good. I live on 64 next to the Cherokee National Forest and the Ocoee River close to Benton, Tn.

Susan, your best bet is to contact alex and/or carol. See contact info on the right side of the page…
We don’t post directions very prominently on the site, to discourage folks from dropping in unannounced. If you are interested, you can find a PDF document with directions and other info on the Information for Teachers page.
FYI, here’s SVI on Google Maps.

Folks, there are still plenty of fine crafts to be had at Como se Llama Gallery… I left a few of the nicer items — just for you!
I made out with several of Carol’s impressed tiles, coasters, a ginkgo-patterned birdfeeder and a Polonia Leaf tray. Also a few very deeply-patterned glass beads and marbles from Ashley and Patrick, and a rustic wood and twine pendant from Johnny.
If you have not had the chance to spend some time in the gallery and speak with Carol about the techniques involved in fashioning SVI’s fine art offerings, you owe yourself the experience.
Thanks, Carol, for packing the goods so carefully. You must know I drive like a maniac.
